The Smoki Dance was an annual event that started here in Prescott, AZ back in 1921.Due to the Sensitive Cultural Nature of the Ceremony originally from the Hopi Tribe, it was cancelled in the 1990's. This wonderful piece purchased at an Estate Sale in Prescott many years ago; it was custom produced and worn by one of the participants of the Smoki Dance. It obviously has been worn quite a bit as some of the gold colored plating has worn off of it. All of the stones appear to be genuine, fortunately one of the pieces of Green Peridot, Arizona's State gem stone came with it. I suspect some glue would be a suitable repair - The loose Peridot came from the Head Dress or between the Red Coral pieces on the bottom of the skirt? Two more stones remain missing, Another piece of Peridot and a piece of Coral which "was" located just above the head dress. Both of these stones should be relatively inexpensive and easy to locate if you wanted to completely restore the pendant. It is certainly very charming in its current condition. The metal used for the chain and the actual pendant look to be a common base metal. The chain measures 24 inches long; The Pendant's measurements are : 3 & 3/4 inches tall, 1 & 7/8 inches wide. 1/2 an inch thick
